Ann, thanks for your reply. Interesting it had happened to you too. I've not noticed it before - but then I'm only an occasional user of the Forum - I had thought I had probably done something like switch notifications of - but I haven't!

Was inspired tonight to do a quick sketch (water soluble pencil) of a Little Egret (note, my original photo didn't have a lot of feather detail)
Very beautiful, Maggy !
In reply to Martin A:

Margaret D said:Really beautiful portrait of a magpie Nigel - sorry I've taken so long in commenting
Thanks and glad you liked it, but no need to apologise

Have finally started drawing birds again. These 2 of a red grouse are from a photo of one of my Flickr friends, Jim Brown, who kindly allowed me to use his beautiful photo www.flickr.com/.../dateposted
the first one is in pencil
the 2nd is done in pencil and watercolour paint
If anybody else has been drawing or painting birds, please post them if you like.
Very nice Maggy, a lovely colourful Percy. I started with a couple who came to the feeders, then his other females came visiting, then all their families, now have a dozen or so! One male will hand feed. At least I have sourced cheap corn mix, they were going through my premium bird seed like there was no tomorrow!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
