What did it do to frighten all those oystercatchers?

A dog had ran over the embankment and along the edge of the scrapes. The hides are open topped and constructed from concrete (sadly, an anti-vandalism measure). They're also almost at ground level at the windows, then sloping off down to the scrapes.

Another small dog (a Spaniel) came running into the hide and jumped up onto the seats and out of the hide window, along the front of the hide and then back in another window. There are signs at the entrance to the scrapes instructing you that no dogs are allowed. Most folks adhere to the rules, but obviously not everyone.!! In fairness to the owner, he was very apologetic and had the wee dog under control as soon as he realised what had happened.

These are Bar-tails. No white wing bar on the top of the wing and no long protruding feet in flight. (You can see everything bar the feet). :-)

There were one or two Black-tails about but I can't see any in the photo, (not to say that there won't be one or two lurking in there somewhere)

Just a few of those waders that have to make a noise over everything they do.
