I simply googled New Zealand Song Thrush Nest and came up with the page below as you can see they do not look like the pile of hay stuffed between a vine and tree trunk as this photo does.

I agree with Shane. It is not a song thrush nest. The build is wrong and so is the location. The chicks to me, don't look like thrush chicks, but I haven't seen any out the nest at that stage of development though. The photo doesn't look convincing. The possum looks like it should be falling off the branch, and appears as if the arms would have been holding a branch. The chicks both look like additions to the photo. The rat looks like it is sniffing rather than biting. As an aside, song thrushes are also introduced to NZ.

Agree with Robbo,the photo does not look right,is it part of an anti Possum and Ship Rat campaign?
