A Request from New Zealand: is this a song thrush nest?

This is image is highly controversial in New Zealand. It purports to show two introduced pests – a possum and ship rat – eating song thrush chicks. The image has been denounced as a fake by opponents of pest control in New Zealand. I was hoping the experienced birdwatchers on this forum might be able to confirm for me one way or the other whether this looks like an authentic setting for /construction of a song thrush nest? I imagine it's very difficult to identify nestlings at such an early stage, but if you have thoughts on that, I'd be grateful for those too... I ask because I'm researching a book about the pest control controversy in New Zealand, and i'd very much like to get to the bottom of this one. Hope you can help, and thanks for reading...
