Forget the fab four, think the fab 12. For the next 12 weeks, it’s quiz time again and this time, I will be testing your knowledge of British beetles. Many beetles have metallic or iridescent coloured elytra and thorax, making them - the real shining stars of the show. Beetles can live in a wide range of habitats. Some can fly and others cannot. Some have long antennae, and others long legs. Some have even mastered the art of disguise! Prepared to be be(et)dazzled and if you’re feeling lucky, perhaps you can even guess the bonus quiz question!Magical mystery beetle quiz #3Clue: Oh dear, I have sent you the wrong note!Bonus quiz: One girly bear.

You know what ?I am pretty glad we are going up to the Lakes in the morning and will not get wi fi so at least I have an excuse for not scrambling my brain until Thursday evening !! Hope to be doing some easy raptor watching with some friends up there but looking at the weather we may spend a lot of time in their kitchen supping coffee and talking birding.

Following on with 'discord' theme, there are several beetles in Hasbro animations ... Bean Weevil/Scarab/Mr Goliath & probably many others! If tomorrow's clue makes any mention of little ponies I will know where to look ... May just have time before the back-to-front jacket is applied!!!

There is a coot beetle aka longicorn or long-horned & there is a list of 65 UK species in Wiki!!
