Once again, it’s time for MrsT’s quizzes to branch out and spread their roots, and this round... you’ve guessed it, its trees! They help regulate our climate and provide food and shelter for a whole host of animals as well as providing us with a variety of resources, we might otherwise take for granted. Let’s face it, what wood (pun intended) the world be without trees? They come in all shapes and sizes, as do the leaves and fruit that they bare and yes, I was one of those kids who loved the school trip to Westonbirt Arboretum. For the next 12 weeks, I will leaf you with a clue or two about trees for you to mulch over.EnjoyMYSTERY TREE QUIZ #4Clue: Back from Hades.
agree with BW on this
Hades is anagram of shade.
That's how I worked it out

a good laugh is better than a tonic
Ummm, interesting, I had not thought about an anagram?
grrrrrr
Is that an anagram Ray?
How about the opposite of Hades ? the Tree of Heaven,I think it does grow in the U.K.

Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can
I think Birdie Wild could be right about the Aspen:The ancient greek god Hades had a mistress, whose name was Leuke. After her death she was turned into an aspen tree.
BW has a good call.
Also, Hades = underworld. Oaks and Elms are associated in mythology with the underworld. Oaks in particular with deep roots are said to represent the tree of life.

I think BW is right on the money with Aspen. From what I've read, a crown of Aspen leaves is supposed to help wearers to visit and return safely from the underworld.
