Winter in the Air

When the song birds are not singing
And the trees are looking bare
The hedgehogs have taken shelter
Winter is in the air
All the leaves and petals have fallen
All blown away
From the trees and pretty flowers
It’s a very sad day.
But hope is around the corner
So do not despair
For a time they stand dormant
They have not got a care.
Through the cold winds of the winter
The snow, frost and the rain
They will sleep until the springtime
Then blossom once again.
