Hi everyone glad to join you all. I live in plymouth in a busy street and have just had a black redstart sat on my front wall.

Good bird to find, it would be great if you could report it on the Birdtrack website. Black redstarts are a species that can turn up in some unusual places, particularly in urban areas. In fact they are so 'down' with urban culture they have their very own website, see below;

I managed to snatch a photograph of one last week, it was bouncing around the rocks & cliff face at the bottom of tynemouth pier... Lovely little birds. Well done & welcome to the forum...
