Just saw a large bird of prey in a field under cultivation just outside our village in Suffolk. It took off and flew about 40m away from me then settled about 150m distance and has stayed there for the last 40 minutes. From what I was able to see through my binoculars, it looked very like an Osprey and interestingly it was surrounded by pigeons and gulls who were not at all unsettled. Could it be an Osprey just arrived on migration?
On the ground in a field…..a buzzard worming……they are often quite pale.
