Hello, I'm Pretty new to this, so please excuse my ignorance.
A pair of hawks live close to my house (E Anglia). They are a pair and one (F?) Is larger than the other. Id day the F if that's her is about the size of a large Turkey? As they spread their wings the have red circles under their wings.
Thank you for any help appreciatec.
Do you have any photos? Red circles under the wings doesn’t match any UK bird of prey.
The commonest large bird of prey is the Common Buzzard. Have a look at pics of those to see if they match your birds.
Thank you, Yes my birds look like these. One flew in and out of the hedge zig, sagging it was superb. (Although I felt sorry for the smaller bird it was chasing).
Description is sparrowhawk re today’s post. Re original post, red circles wing tags?
Yes definitive flash of red and one much larger than aother. I'll dog out my camera and try.
