Ducks in my street

Hi everyone,

A group of 4 Mallards, 3 male & 1 female turned up on my street about an hour ago. I'm concerned because they're at the entrance, close to the main road. I'm not sure what to do. I don't want them getting spooked and ending up in the road. Is there anyone I can phone, or will they just find their way back to where they came from?

Hi Lorna,

I am sure they will probably be fine as they will no doubt fly away again when they want to...they even turn up in some gardens from time to time ;-)

Thanks Linda. I think my neighbours must have thought I'd lost my mind, wandering to the end of the street and back to look at some ducks! They appear to have gone now, so they obviously got bored and moved on.

I also get them from time to time as I live only a short walk from a small reservoir.

They disappeared yesterday, but were back again this morning around 8am, but seem to have gone again now! There are a few farms about half a mile or so away in either direction, so maybe they've come from one of those.
