Pigeon with pink wings

Hello. I live in London N7. I have spotted a pigeon with pink wings in my garden twice this week. When it flies the underwings are bright pink. I think it is living in my next door neighbours roof (there are feral pigeons roosting there).

Has anyone else seen this? Any thoughts?

Hi Camilla,

There is a trend to dye pigeons for release at weddings so it could be an escapee that has joined up with a feral flock

I agree with Germain and there was a similar thread from Sheffield I think it was, asking for i.d. I'll try and find it and link the two as that'll be what they also saw......

Thank you both. If this one was dyed for a themed wedding I’m glad it’s escaped! I’ll try and take a photo and share on this thread when I next see it. Have a lovely weekend!

Thinking further it was more probably a hideous gender reveal party. Fingers very firmly crossed that is was food dye and with the opportunity to bath the pink will fade out
