4 swallow fledglings emerged yesterday, we had several years with no swallows or just one, so thrilled to see the healthy young flying around our yard. We are lucky enough to have a small paddock and we manage it in an insect friendly way as I do in my garden. We are surrounded by intensive farming, and now the sky above our land and house is the feeding area for these birds as well as the few martins we see, and bats. Grow shrubs, longer grass and as many wildflowers as you can, and definitely ditch any chemicals, and you will reap the benefits!
