Hello, my first post.
My daughter and I took her dog for a walk yesterday to a part of the Avon that I'd not been to before and only a couple of miles from home. As we walked from the car park past a field we saw this magnificent bird. Unfortunately we only had a phone to take pictures with and we are both a bit 'blind', but if you can enlarge them you can see what I took to be AN EAGLE, OMG!! We were very excited and decided that if it was still there when we got back we would call someone, anyone. But it had gone.
Now, I hope you won't ridicule me too much but I can't think what else it looks like. I welcome your thoughts.
Thanks,
Newbie Fran
First, a warm welcome Fran to the forum, we're a friendly bunch, mad as hatters, and where possible, will help where we can.
Its very hard to get a perspective, while it could be a raptor (or possibly a gull) of some kind, I really couldn't say any more.
Just for clarification, can you confirm which Avon?
There are more than one in the UK and not all start and finish at the same points and it may help with someone trying to make an identification for you, but I can't guarantee a definite answer.
