Great Tit chicks abandoned in nest box

Well done on looking after the two little chicks, they look good. Hopefully they will continue growing and get ready to fledge. Do the centre give them back to you so that you can release them where they were born?

I don’t know; it wasn’t mentioned. I will find out how they are doing on Sunday and may ask then ( they make it until Sunday)

I really hope they do after all your hard work, keep us posted.

I have been in touch with the Wildlife Hospital today and they tell me that both the chicks are doing well.

Hi Susan, sorry I've only just seen your message, thanks for asking about them, the 2 that I had left turned a bit of a corner. The advice Robbo gave about maggots not been a recommended food for birds got me thinking (thanks for that Robbo) and I switched them back to chopped mealworms and they seem to be doing well. I will put a couple of pictures on, their feathers have come on lots but I still think they've got some more growing to do. I'm taking each day as it comes, the bigger one out of the two has been acting a little strangely over these last few days, he seems to prefer to stay sat down rather than getting up on his feet and is putting his head down low which is meaning his sibbling is trampling all over him
