Yellow wagtail - sighting / female

That's a very early sighting RedOctober especially that far North. If you're certain it's a Yellow it will be of interest to your local recorder

Very interesting and thanks for the replies. We get Pied wagtails but was unaware of Grey ones. That said, I have checked a thread dated January 2021 and looked at the attached image to that thread and am still not convinced it was a grey wagtail we saw. I say that because the "yellow" section we saw was more to the lower chest / stomach area as opposed to behind the legs.
We will continue to look out for it and see if we can add any further clarity to the subject.

Certainly look at Grey Wagtail which why I suggested your local bird recorder

Male Grey wagtails have much more yellow on the upper parts of their breasts as in this photo,

You mentioned you were in Southern Scotland so maybe look on the S.O.C. webpages or a local club if you have one
