Hi, new member from Aberdeenshire here. We have what I assume is a Sparrow at our feeders which really stands out because of it's light brown colouring. We have a large sparrow population here but I've never seen one like this before. Any one able to confirm that it is a sparrow or other wise?
How fabulous to get so many tree sparrows in the garden - well done. Here's a photo of a juvenile House Sparrow (left) and a juvenile Tree Sparrow (right) together in same photo so you can see the difference; tree sparrows have that distinctive black cheek patch and rich chestnut coloured head.
Thanks, looking out the window I can count 38 sparrows on the ground and the feeder! It's the light brown bird on the peanut feeder, behind the blue tit I'm interested in. Here's another photo.
Got an Albino one now, must have inherited her gemes
You're obviously doing something right then
