What's with this Collared Dove?

Hi - is this a juvenile, or a one-off? Apart from the obvious colouring at the rear, it also noticeably a darker grey overall. It is being chased around occasionally by other doves.

Hi Jon, I do not know if this is a young one still changing colour, or if it is an adult that is darker because of the pigmentation. Hopefully someone else with more knowledge will answer, this will bump your post up anyway.

Thanks both - after a bit more research it appears to be melanism - an increase in dark melanin
