Pink Pigeon?!!

  1.    Does anyone have any idea why this pigeon is pink?
  • Not something I have ever seen before but found an article from 2015 which may answer your question

    (Pardon the Scottish Accent)

  • Take a look HERE at another post about a Magpie with pink pigmentation .......      also look at the abnormality in pigmentation called   "Erythrism"  HERE

  • Hi Daniel, sadly, some people spray paint pigeons to use them at events and shows. There was recently a guy in the US who glued little sombreros and hats on some pidges. It is a cruel practice. Where did you see this bird?

Unicum arbustum haud alit duos erithacos

Thanks for the reply! I assumed that this may have been the case, although I did not want to believe it. I was not aware of that the sombrero thing. It's sad that people find pleasure in such things... I saw this in the city centre of Bradford on a small park. Although it was sad to see, I'm glad only one pigeon was affected and there were many thriving there!
