Blackbird with bright red beak!!

I've just looked out of my kitchen window onto the back garden and seen a bird the exact shape and size of a blackbird with black/brown feathers except it had a bright red beak - it was in no way an orange colour, it was an almost vibrant red covering it's entire beak. I have researched and found no bird as the one I'm describing. Has anyone ever seen one? Could it have eaten something to turn it's beak this colour like some red berries? This was in Nottinghamshire and we usually get lots of blackbirds on our garden but never of this colour beak!
