Identifying dark coloured ducks

Hi I have a mummy and five ducklings on the pond in West Sussex they are beautiful and very dark brown, can anyone identify them please, they look like America Black Ducks?  Best wishes.  Jill

    Hello Jill, sorry no one has responded. They look more like a darker toned Mallard, female as you can see the typical flash on wing tip with 5 juveniles obviously growing quite quickly. Your female could possibly be a crossbreed, any thing is possible with mallards.
