Does anyone know if garden birds eat the olives from trees - I have 3 in my garden that are full of fruit

Hi Magpie
Yes we have blackbirds eating our olives from the tree in the back garden. This is the first year we have seen this behaviour. Due to the mild winter, the olives have ripened to dark black and several blackbirds both male and female have been eating them. We live in Nottinghamshire.

I currently have pigeons eating olives from trees in a container on my balcony - the last few weeks they regularly visit. I live in Essex

Here in Essex we had Blackbirds taking olives from a container planted tree in late winter last year when the olives were black and soft. The tree currently has loads of olives but so far none appear to have been taken by birds.
