Hello - new to the group and wonder if anyone could confirm the identify this bird. The stance and body shape don't look quite right for a heron although I've often seen herons in this place and I wondered if by any chance it could be a crane? The picture was taken about 3 weeks ago in Bembridge Harbour on the Isle of Wight. Thanks for your help.
I'm tempted to say heron, the tail doesn't look right for a crane.
