Pigeon Nestling

We had a Pigeon nesting in our wisteria. We have been watching closely and have seen usual activity of the adult coming and going and feeding the squabsz

As of yesterday morning, the adult stopped returning. We noticed a lot of flies around the nest and upon investigating, discovered one of the baby squabs dead. The adult still hasn’t returned to feed the other.

Is there any hope for salvation for the other baby? With it being bank holiday, the closest vet is miles away. Should I intervene?

  • Hello Alan, I am here also. Sorry to read about the baby pigeons Jessy. Nature is cruel but as Alan has said you should leave well alone. Depending on how old the other one is, it may still be okay. Or the parents may come back to look after it. Let us know what happens.
