My mum is really worried that the mum will desert the nest. they seem to be newly hatched, and their eyes were closed, but because she lifted the lid off, not knowing there was a nest inside, she is worried the robin won't come back to the nest. Is this something we should be worried about? If so, what is the best course of action??
They are much more tolerant of humans than many others & it must have felt secure enough to build its nest there in the first place, presumably you & you're Mum have been unwittingly near it before? My Robin came to feed from a dish of wax worms which was right beside our feet as we sat round the pond watching frogs today but his nest mi is a couple of gardens away!
