Missing Robins

Hi guys,

Has anyone any ideas as to what may have happened. We realised to our absolute delight a pair of robins have nested in a little bucket nicely sheltered on an outside shelf underneath a protruding portion of roof. Everyday for the last week we’ve had the pleasure of watching the attentive proud parenting of these hard workers up until today - no sightings at all. we have not seen the adult visit since last night. Is this normal? Thank you to anyone who can share their knowledge with me

  • Robins are very sensitive to any disturbance during the nest building and egg laying, and will easily desert the nest if they think that the nest has been discovered. I am certainly not inferring you have disturbed them as obviously you have been successfully watching them for some time; but other birds/wildlife may have put them off. Maybe they will return, I hope so.
