We have a nest box with camera in it. The chicks hatched 15 days ago - about 8 of them; about 4 days ago one died - mother removed it/or ate it. Another died yesterday it is too big I think for her to get out and she has just been going over it. She is still feeding the others - (not sure 4 or more still there) regularly, but a few flies are starting to go round the dead one. Clearly the chicks will fledge very soon. Should we leave it as it is or try and take off the top and remove the dead one?
