Black Swan and revealing undersides of wings

Not seen one of these flap its wings before,.... annoyingly not quite in focus...

  • Nice shot Rich.
A mate said he thought he saw a Black Swan fly over my patch the other day and said he could see white under the wings.

  • In reply to Alan.:

This one seems to resident along the Avon valley, close to Salisbury, and seems to be a rather solitary soul, sadly. But I have noticed that the Jackdaws and Crows seem to feed on the grass unhindered, very close to it and seem to keep it company,
  • Nice phot Rich, not something you see much. I have never seen one.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

  • Even though I have been birding for a long time it is only recently that I have noticed the underwings of Black Swans,I suppose I must not have watched them in flight much in the past and also some of our local birds are flightless as their wings are clipped to stop them wandering from collections.

Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can
