Hello, I was wondering if someone could help me to identify a feather I found this morning. It was found in South Wales near wooded farmlands. Thanks!
It looks like a Pheasant feather to me. There are lots of variations in the colourings and markings from young birds through to adults, and also from male to female. This one looks to be very dark but the markings on the lighter side of the feather suggest Pheasant to me.

In reply to Paul A:
Thought it might have been a Peacock feather but confused about the concentration of black on the one side on the feather
I would also guess at a pheasant feather, possibly female.
