Help identifying garden bird

My 8 year old son is keen on taking pictures of birds in our garden, he took this, can anyone help us with what it is??

  1. Thanks
  • It looks like a very scruffy Dunnock looking at the bill.

  • The markings on the lower wing feathers have the Wren's bars and the white eyebrow is also very Wren like. You may well be right and I am wrong. The bill looks a bit too short though but may just be camera angle..

  • It seems to be suffering with Trichomonosis so I think it is probably a Dunnock but the white eye stripe does suggest wren in which case it is the first time I have seen a wren in this condition.
  • Looks like it's just drying off to me and no sign of trichomoniasis from what I can see; no food stuck to bill and I think the damp look is more likely as a result of weather related conditions or bathing.
