Can anyone help to identify this bird?
Sorry I love to see wildlife but I'm not really a bird spotter so I didn't pay attention to it's legs or beak enough to register what they looked like. Didn't get a photo:-(
Seen on a housing estate but not far from farmland.
It stood fairly upright. About 10 - 12 inches. It was a beige to brown colour, I thought perhpas tawny but that's probably too gold, with a light coloured highly speckled chest. It had stripes down its wings. A black eyebrow with a white eyebrow above it. I think it had a red stripe on it's head.
