What do I do to discourage the big, aggressive birds such as crows, rooks, jays and magpies from swooping in and taking all the food I've left out for small birds?
Hi Saffi, I found using this "pitched roof" style ground guardian worked well and kept out both larger birds and squirrels; the mesh is adjustable each side to either allow birds blackbird size and over or only allow birds smaller than blackbirds to gain entrance. It is a bit expensive but saves you in the long run on bird food.
