Eggs from Nest

I have a house Martin nest above my window and this morning found two small (intact) eggs in my flower bed below. I assume they've come from the nest. Would they have been rejected? If so, why?

many thanks.

  • They could have been taken out by a predator Wallis, they would not have just fallen out, or if there had been some kind of upset they may have been kicked out.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

  • Two eggs were out of the nest. There is no mention of the nest being damaged, so assuming that is the case, there are two possibilities. Hopefully, it is the first one.
    1) a rival house Martin is attempting to, or has, taken over the nest. Or
    2) you have the same house sparrow problem as I have.
