My wife came in from walking the dog to say she was sure she saw Red Kites where we live. Went out with binoculars and there were five possibly six birds circling above us. We often see buzzards but these birds had forked tails, they did not call like our buzzards usually do. Looked in the identification books we have on b9irds and could only find Red Kites that had description of what we saw. Is it likely that we saw not just one but possibly five or six. In reply to Alan.:
Thank you or the link, I now have my camera ready but they have now flown off. I live in North Lincs Wolds our friend who lives in the village says they were frequently seen at Cadwell in 2006. I do hope I am right but want to get a photo to be sure of an identification. Again my thanks for the link
I hope you can post some photos on here if you get some.
In reply to Anna and Paul:
Red Kites have spread to so many areas since their reintroduction programmes most regions must stand of getting them even if it is only as casual visitors. Here up in N.Yorkshire they have spread to most areas despite attempts from certain quarters to keep the away.
