Has anyone tried a curved monitor for looking at photos etc?
My Flickr photos
Short answer - no. In fact I didn't know that you could get them as I have only ever seen curved screens in about 48 inch tv screens.

Was looking at something like this Bob www.currys.co.uk/.../samsung-c27f396-full-hd-27-curved-led-monitor-10146154-pdt.html
In reply to Alan.:
Shows you how long it was since I looked into computer stuff. I can see what they mean about it being immersive for films and video games but I must be honest and say I have no idea how it would feel looking at photographs and editing them on it. It does seem in the advertising that the real purpose is to occupy your peripheral vision rather than provide a "better" view. Maybe one of these rainy days i will pop into Currys and take a butcher's.
Not tried it Alan but it seems to be better for other stuff, which means it may not be better for photos!
Best wishes

Yep Hazel I tend to agree with you and Bob, probably the better way to go is a 4K monitor.
I'm amazed at the difference a screen makes, Ron has an ipad & his photos look a 100 times better on it than they do on my computer monitor (bog standard).
I must admit I love my imac screen, its so much better than anything I have ever had before, and it isn't even one of the top retina screens. Next one will be :)
Gut feel about curved screens is that they're a gimmic. In theory, I guess if you're sitting at the exact focal point of the curve, you could benefit from increased peripheral vision quality, but as a TV in a room where multiple people watch? Not convinced. On a monitor, I'd say it would give worse results than a flat screen (unless you watch films all the time, in which case see earlier comment!). I'd say spend the cash on a decent quality flat screen instead
