Pigeon issue solution - advice please.

Hi,

Our house backs onto a park in East London and we get lovely small birds .

However the seeds etc also attracts pigeons.

My question is:

Will a decoy owl put off pigeons?

But will it also scare away the small birds?

Any ideas?

Thanks Tom

  • Try hanging feeders, look at what you are feeding and make sure that there is low corn/wheat content - have look at guardian feeders - they are used to try and stop squirrels and larger birds accessing food. You can try an owl but I think pidges soon clock they aren't moving

  • We have all birds come to our table. They seem to take turns, but I also have put a hanging feeder... too small for pigeons underneath the table so that they don't eat all the food (greedy pigions)
  • NOT HAD TOO MUCH PROBLEM WITH PIGEONS BUT MOSTLY THEY CLEAR UP ALL THE FALLEN SEED. NOTHING LEFT LYING AROUND TO ATTRACT RATS AND MICE FOR INSTANCE. WillieK
