Is someone using the same name as myself or am I going nuts (waxwing)??
I do have a problem I have changed email address so I cannot receive emails,I have contacted RSPB days ago but as yet I have not had a reply, anyway I have just sent them a new email hopefuly they will sort it out.
So sorry for any confusion.
I would imagine that the more recent (other) 'waxwing' will be asked to change their name. I'm also surprised that they managed to register with the same name! Must be a bug somewhere!

I will let you know when things get sorted out,but at least I can still look and reply to the posts
Hi Waxwing
I am sure that you can change your name yourself in your profile setup
The only thing is you will lose all of your posts {as far as I know}

Thanks for that, but I still have to change to my new email address,so I will have to wait to for an answer to my email to the RSPB.
As MarJus says, I am sure they will ask No 2 to change their details.
Well they certainly ought to! There's no reason why the Waxwing we are chatting to here should have to change his - after all he was here first!
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
I can only think it is due to recognising upper/lower case "W" as a different letter? Hope you get things sorted!

Hi all, thanks you all for your help and kind comments, but I think I will have to ring the RSPB up to sort this out.
Hi all,
The software that powers this forum uses e-mail address as the unique identifier for each person. The software does allow more than one person to have the same nickname. If this becomes a widespread problem we will investigate but it would require the software to be customised.
I hope that helps explain.
All the best,
Graham

Hi Graham,
Thanks for the explanation. I think perhaps it would be a good idea though to customise the software to prevent this happening now rather than wait and see if it becomes an issue, especially as many people choose bird names here we could soon be overrun with people chosing to name themselves after the same bird as the site becomes more popular.
