Anybody tried to post or answer a post using the iPad? Its strange that on all the MAC forums it works perfectly but not on RSPB forum.
I have an iPhone and cannot post on forum with it so don't know if t iPad is the same. The keyboard just does not aappear. I have taken to typing into document writer and copy and pasting which is fiddly but does allow me to post as I am walking in the woods as I currently am. As long as I don't walk into a tree I should be fine

hi David
Sorry, I have never tried to at.
Places like Facebook and Twitter have this faciltiy no doubt and it is getting more of natural occurance in our market place.
I would love to hear of other peoples experiences of iPad and another new techy software in the market place
Regards
Kathy and Dave
Not an Apple user, but this could be more related to Safari, (I believe that this is the default browser on Apple products).
If this is the case then an alternative app may solve the issues you are having.
Some possibilities are discussed here ...

although I'm sure other possibly better options are available

This type of forum Reader app may also be an alternative ...

The problem with the iPad is that the keyboard just does not appear any attempt to tap on the box just highlights it and brings up s COPY option so it is impossible to cut and paste into the box.
Whoops . . . .mind that tree!
Good birding . . . . .
I have tried downloading two alternative browsers, but the same problem still exists. I am not sure how it appears but with a bit of fiddling the paste option does appear eventually. I tap with two fingers and that seems to bring it up, but you are right mostly just copy appears, It is a real nuisance. The keyboy does appear in the tag box and the search box, so it is a strange.
Made it home without bumping into any trees so now at PC.
I tried the second link but that did not work, but thanks for suggestions as I do prefer the second browser to safari anyway.
Good luck with the ipad,
Have you tried this with an ipad? I need to chat to someone who has cracked posting onto this forum with an iPad.
Thanks,
David
No sorry just iphone, but it's the same issue i think, no keyboard appearing when you tap into text box. The forum runner app does not have the rspb forum on so that is no good either. (thanks BArman for the suggestions any way)
The copy and pasting is hard going, but paste does appear. It is very annoying though
Possible work around is provided by G Henderson here ....

Does look a bit complicated rhough ;-(
Thanks for the input and I'll give it a try when I settle down in front of the TV tonight with something in a glass to stop me overheating . . . . .
What I stil don't understand is that this does not apply to all forums . . . . in my case it is only the RSPB that is affected, things like Facebook and FlickR and Twitter all perform or are they not true forums ~ I don't now. The real point is that the iPad and my birding requirements go together so well and save me carrying a laptop, with a mifi I am connected.
Thanks guys, David
