Emails

Hi everyone,

Is it just me or is everyone else having problems with the emails from the forum?

I had very few yesterday, then when I switched on this morning there were 179 waiting for me in my in box. The same thing has happened today. Just the odd one or two have been coming in. I have just returned to my computer after a couple of hours break to find another huge batch waiting. Most of these relate to posts made much earlier today.

Cheers, Linda.

  • Hi Sparrow, I stopped all emails about posts back last September because I was getting inundated with them as they duplicated, triplicated etc. etc. so I was getting up to 6 notifications of each post! You don't really need them, I find, as the "Posts You Have Not Read" button shows all new posts since your last visit.

The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.

The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!

  • I only joined the forum at the start of January but I soon realised that I was getting flooded with duplicate and triplicate messages. Now any posts I make I routinely untick the "Email me" box.

Whoops, mustn't forget to do it this time.

  • If you go into Your Page and click on Edit Profile, there are two options about emails there and you can change those saying No to both of them. Then you don't have to do it with each post......

I disabled emails long ago they were nothing but a nuisance. As it is I stlll get 2 notifications of posts to my page.

  • I don't mind the emails normally as long as there are no more than 2 per post, but 179 all at once is a bit much. They all came in at the same time during the middle of the night.

    Cheers, Linda.

Possibly because it had no pictures to look at. LOL

  • I have also disabled emails as they were just too much.  I do sometimes lose track of a post, but there's always a new one to add to so I prefer it that way.

I've learned that I still have a lot to learn...

Thanks Squirrel, I didn't realise you could do that.

  • Hi Squirrel,

What is the difference between the 2 options for disabling mail on our profile page?

    Cheers, Linda.
