Solved the problem of putting photos on page

Good news,

Thank goodness,i have now started to put photos on my page.I noticed my pics were too many mbs so had to reduce size because the size should be max 4mb,problem solved .This now explains lots of time outs.

  • Thanks TJ,  I think you are right.  when I first got it  I did spend a lot of time trying to work out how to use it.  I have become lazy and need to get the book out a have a play with some of my pics.

As with any ICT  if you learn and then don't regularly use it, you forget all you have learned.

  • At the risk of becoming a geek, Sarah, I have had one further thought. Have you tried Google's Picasa. This is a completely free download from Google's website. It's good at cataloguing all your picture files which it does automatically and you can do some quick fixes as well. I use it for that alone. I'll stop now before I become a complete bore.

  • Yes I have that, It's very good and I like the collage print feature which i use for cards.  You are not a bore,  all tips are gratefully received, much better in person as it were than trying to understand a book,

    Best wishes

  • Hi everyone,

Thankyou all for your comments and tips,i really do have a lot to learn and this is just the start .

    Hi,

remember,  there is a size limit on individual pics :) Personally I always crop a photo b4 posting it here- that seems to sort it most of the time :)

For advice about Birding, Identification, field guides,  binoculars, scopes, tripods,  etc - put 'Birding Tips'   into the search box

  • I can't see it either!

The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.

The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!

I think Paint Shop Pro (PSP) and Photoshop Elements (PSE) are very similar in terms of what they can do and price. I have both but generally speaking I use PSE simply because I have put the time and effort into trying to get the best out of it. They both have some fairly sophisticated features but equally they can do the simple things like adjusting brightness, contrast and sharpening with automated keystrokes which don't require you to have any in depth knowledge. However, with all these software packages there is a steep learning curve and there is no substitute for putting in the time to get to grips with them.

    Hi TJ

You are absolutely right. I used to have Photoshop but I couldn't practice at it enough to learn to use it easily and it's similar with Paint Shop Pro. I need to upgrade my copy because it is 5 years old (it was still JASC then not Corel) This means I have to buy a completely new product and I don't intend to pay £80 for the latest version of PSP X3. Corel suggested that for my purposes I should consider PSP express which is just a scaled down version like Photoshop elements. However, I will now investigate other possibilities before I part with any money.
