Good news,
Thank goodness,i have now started to put photos on my page.I noticed my pics were too many mbs so had to reduce size because the size should be max 4mb,problem solved .This now explains lots of time outs.

As a matter of interest, when you increase the dpi of an image do you use the resample option or do you link all the changes so that the original image is not altered? I do something similar (albeit using Photoshop Elements) but have resisted using the resample option. Your enlargement of the blue tit is pretty impressive.

On that one yes I did use the resample option, but I don't maintain the original print size so it can become bigger. I do lock the aspect ratio and resize all layers.
I think I have a copy of Photoshop Elements but I'm not that techie enough to do all of the things in there. With PSP I can do enough for my purposes.
You are all very knowledgeable with paintshop and photshop etc. I have photoshop elements, but really don't know how to use it well. Is paint shop simpler.
My daugther is doing photography A level and is learning about the full photoshop so hopefully she will pass on some knowledge. the only time i looked at that though i was completely baffled!!!

I'm completely baffled too. I only use mine to do these bit's and pieces. I can't manipulate pics or cut out one item and add it to another items background or anything that complicated.

It does come with a very large manual, but just don't have time to read it. I have managed to use cloning tool to block things out, but that's about it,
Better keep at it i suppose

I think Paint Shop Pro (PSP) and Photoshop Elements (PSE) are very similar in terms of what they can do and price. I have both but generally speaking I use PSE simply because I have put the time and effort into trying to get the best out of it. They both have some fairly sophisticated features but equally they can do the simple things like adjusting brightness, contrast and sharpening with automated keystrokes which don't require you to have any in depth knowledge. However, with all these software packages there is a steep learning curve and there is no substitute for putting in the time to get to grips with them.
I suppose that if you've already got PSE and your daughter is using the professional Photoshop package at school then PSE might be the better bet for you because it inherits many of the features that the full package has and that your daughter will be familiar with. Good luck.
