Has anyone ideas why we may not have any garden birds. We have recently moved to Long Buckby near Daventry from Hertfordshire. In Hertfordshire we had so many birds. We put up a bird feeder and filled it with the usual feeds, nothing at all has come.

Its hard to give a definitive answer, we need to know more about the garden is there tree cover in your garden or neighbouring gardens and local area, how long have the feeders been up, and do you know if feeders are in any other gardens, just to start with.
Also, what type of feed are you providing?
Suet and fat balls specifically for birds are a good invite at this time of year. Birds need to build up and retain fat reserves to keep warm.
If the feeders are new to the garden, ie previous occupants never having placed any, then it could take a while before birds find the feeders are start to feed from them, even longer if there is no tree or hedges to provide some refuge from predators.
Also, birds will give regular feeders a miss for a day or two, depending on the weather, which currently is mild, even though wet and windy, because insects will be prevalent. Also, there could, and most likely are, other feeders in their habitat that may be fulfilling their needs.
