Raise Community site problems here

Yesterday, I and one or two other members had a problem with Windows 10 Edge browser where the "Use rich formatting" button would not work on this site;      today the problem seems to have been resolved as I was able to upload a test image, however,  on some browsers, like Safari, other's are still having problems.      It would be helpful if either this thread or a new dedicated Tech's thread for any site problems/issues could be made into a sticky so it stays at the top.   That way forum members can find it easily and add any technical issues they are having on this community.    Thank you in advance.

Will start off with Bob's post from this morning:

Quote:       Yes the site has plunged downhill again. Rich Formatting button is not working on Safari either, though instead of the old error page message I get a "That was unexpected page" telling me the problem has been logged and reported. It remains to be seen whether anything happens. Personally I would start a new thread about the issue, but believe it or not I can't actually start any New Threads.

So I would be grateful if anyone using a different browser can start a new Thread on the Community Upgrade page and try and alert the powers that be. Even if it is a browser related issue, Safari is not exactly one of your rarely used browsers.

Just testing to see what works!

Rich Formatting with quote and edit all seems to be working for me, using Puffin.

Switched over to To Safari now, and all seems to be working okay as well.

Edit, apart from when a quote of mine is used and it reads "Lynn L" says, who is she!!!

  • Note: thanks for input folks. Although it's good to know what is working …….please only quote on here what is NOT working as any issues may not be spotted by Techs. (she lives in hope that techs are back from Cyberspace lol )
  • My Community Home button (the RSPB logo at the top left of the page) is still disappearing. Clare is wondering if it is a deliberate policy to force us on to the main RSPB page, perhaps as part of the membership push.
  • This is now getting confusing as I cannot access the "Use rich formatting" link yet again either with Win.Edge or even Firefox; I haven't changed a thing on my computer so is it browser problem or what LOL
  • post edit: can't edit previous post either :(
  • OK Alan, will do; the page was also taking ages to load as if on go slow.
  • Using Chrome and it works; appears to be a possible problem with an added extension on the browser which my HP added on my laptop and which Chrome flagged up and which I removed from Chrome so formatting link now works. So its a browser/extension issue methinks.

Yay, I can post edit also  :)       good job as I was running out of browsers   LOL

  • Not a major issue but a slightly irritating one. Often when people post pictures from a mobile phone in vertical orientation they flip sideways when you click on the photo to enlarge it. I don't know whether this is a site issue or a browser one. However, I've tried it on three browsers, Chrome, Firefox and Opera, with the same result.
