I’m happy to say that we have yet more good news to share this week – we have reopened the trail towards the Grisedale and Tim Jackson hides. Although the hides remain closed, visitors can now enjoy a leisurely walk through the wet woodland and experience the winter reedbed!

We have cleared some vegetation to make the path ahead more visible, allowing visitors to safely negotiate one another. We have also made much-needed repairs to the path surface, following the recent flooding.

There are lots of passing places all along this route so you can move along the paths comfortably and safely. We do ask that all visitors are mindful of others at all times and we also ask that you do not put out birdfood anywhere along this path or spend time occupying any of the areas required for people to pass safely. Thanks.

Don’t forget, the shop and café are open 10am till 4pm daily, as is the reserve, where there has been plenty of activity in recent days.

Bearded tits, marsh harriers, great rafts of wildfowl, great white egrets and bittern all have been seen around the site this week. Come along and enjoy a bit of nature before the festive season kicks off!

See you soon

Jon
